Lootera is a cinematic masterpiece by Vikramaditya Motwane

#Lootera is a cinematic masterpiece and a very fine love story crafted on-screen by #Vikramaditya #Motwane (of critically acclaimed #Udaan fame). His presentation of the story is gripping and the narration, unusual. Lootera completed 8 years in July, 2021.

Lootera (Lootera) has at its core a very sensitive love story of Pakhi (Sonakshi Sinha) and Ranveer Singh's character who bears many names. How they meet, develop a bond but still can't unite
at that point in time despite the approval of Pakhi's baba, is the core plot of Lootera. They meet later and most of their meetings take place under quite unusual circumstances.
But what makes the film really interesting is the backdrop of pre-independence India.

It's around that point (post-interval) that the story actually becomes quite gripping as you keep anticipating if they will eventually meet or not, and if yes, how. (I am very restrained here as not to reveal the story.) I have liked Lootera so much. There are scenes in the second half of the film, which completely engulf you emotionally.

This film is not for those who are just looking for a fun flick, and I am sure Phantom (the now-defunct production house) must be hoping for its huge critical success as well, and not really waiting to count how many crores it rakes in at the B.O.

To me, Lootera is a cinema beyond crores. This is for all cinema lovers who want to experience a good cinema that touches not just your heart but moves you as well. It's a soulful and well-made film. Although a little slow at a few places, it's understood that the narration of the story demands that.

The songs in Lootera are fabulous. Amit Trivedi and Amitabh Bhattacharya have offered pure melodies for this period-romance film, a genre which we don't get to see much.

It's a cinematic delight, so, go cherish it. Keep yourself and your mobile phone at ease, and let Lootera loot your hearts.
